Madrid Airport hotels are perfect if you have an early morning flight. Or, if you have a late arrival, you might like to stay at the airport for a night instead of trying to figure out trains the moment you touch down.
But the truth is that Madrid is not far from the airport. So, depending on the traffic, in 30 minutes you can go from Madrid’s downtown (Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Cibeles) to the airport by car. If you add to this one of the best networks of buses, subway and trains, there is no real need to sleep at the airport in most cases.
That being said, if you are flying on one of those very early low-cost flights, your public transport options are limited and getting to the airport on time can become a bit more difficult.
There are several hotels near Madrid airport, in three main locations:
- In the town of Barajas, near Terminals 1, 2 and 3 (T1, T2 and T3) of the airport.
- A couple of business districts near the airport.
- IFEMA, the Madrid exhibition and conference complex, which is not far from the airport.
So, I have collected below the best hotel options for early travelers departing from Madrid airport:
- Hilton Madrid Airport.
- Crowne Plaza Madrid Airport.
- täCH Madrid Airport.
- Axor Feria.
- Hotel Maydrit Airport.
- Hotel Nuevo Boston.
My 3 favorite Madrid airport hotels
Hilton Madrid Airport: A big hotel with the design and room sizes that are traditional at the Hilton brand, but in the middle of an industrial park. Its best perk is that their transfer bus to the airport runs every 20 minutes from 4:00 and they are literally next to Terminal 1 (T1). It also has a swimming pool you can use all year long.
Crowne Plaza Madrid Airport: It’s located in a business district near the airport. The Crowne Plaza is a high standard hotel with impeccable service and very comfortable rooms. Even though there are no shops or services in the surrounding area, this is an excellent option. Great staff, wonderful rooms and a perfect transfer service!
täCH Madrid Airport: The hotel, located in Barajas, is a relatively new hotel with comfortable and elegant rooms. Breakfast is simple, but buffet-like and at a very affordable price. The sleek modern bar and restaurant area is open all day for drinks, snacks, lunch and dinner. There are bars, restaurants and shops within a few minutes’ walk too. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Barajas Metro station, which allows you to easily get to the city center. Make sure you book the airport transfer in advance.
Other alternatives among Madrid airport hotels
Just in case the Madrid airport hotels I recommend you are fully booked or don’t reach your accommodation standards, here are some very good alternatives.
Axor Feria: It’s located in a business district near the airport. The Plenilunio shopping mall is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and it’s the only food option in the surrounding area.
It’s a very comfortable and new hotel with design rooms. You need to book the airport transfer in advance. It’s a medium size van shared with the Hotel Axor Barajas nearby.
Hotel Maydrit Airport: The Maydrit is in the Alameda de Osuna neighborhood, very close to the airport (T1, T2, T3 terminals). This is a modern and very comfortable hotel, with excellent rooms and large bathrooms. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the El Capricho subway station, which allows you to reach the center of Madrid without paying the special supplement for traveling to/from the airport.
Hotel Nuevo Boston: This high standard hotel with great service and large and very comfortable rooms is located in a business district near the airport. It offers a 24-hour free shuttle service to the airport, although you need to book it in advance. The Plenilunio shopping mall is a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Looking for other hotels near Madrid airport?
You can also use the following search box to look for other airport hotels in Madrid.
When searching for a hotel near Madrid airport make sure to carefully evaluate two conditions:
- The hotels offers a free transfer to or from the airport, and the hours and frequency of the service (not all hotels offer 24-hour transfer).
- Public transport is available nearby to get you to or from Madrid.
The first question is essential. The second one will depend a lot on whether we are planning to go to Madrid or not.
